Hello!
I know it's not quite graduation time yet, but our seniors here graduate at the end of May. Since I'll likely have a newborn around that time, I wanted to go ahead and get their cards made now while I still had some free time on my hands. I enjoyed making these cards so much. It felt good to do some stamping and coloring since I haven't done that in awhile.
This card was for a customer who requested a graduation card for her son. I actually taught him my first year teaching when he was in 8th grade. I can't believe that group of kids is graduating now! I used the ConGRADulations stamp set by There She Goes - my go-to set for graduation cards. I used PTI Scarlet Jewel for my card background and embossed it with the Paper Studio Mesh Texture embossing folder. That's another new folder for me. I got it because I thought it was masculine, and I don't have a lot of masculine stuff. I guess I need to work on that since I have a little boy on the way! :) I also used the Paper Studio Tiny Stars embossing folder and added a border with the MFT Notebook Edge Die-namic. I felt the card needed something to offset all that maroon, so I added some die-cut stars and blinged them up with Stickles. I stamped the sentiment on a flag and popped it up with foam tape. The image was colored with Copic markers and also adhered with foam tape.
I made this card for my cousin who is graduating this year. I also used the ConGRADulations stamp set on this one. The layout is an older MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch. The papers are from the Echo Park Dots & Stripes collection. I've had these papers for so long, and shamefully, this was the first time I've used them! They worked great since her school color is blue! I did some more embossing with the Tiny Stars folder on this card and added a border with the MFT Simply Scallops Border Die-namic. I did some stitching and added ribbon and a blingy flourish. The image was colored with Copic markers and accented with an Ice White Viva Pearl Pen. I debated on adding a bow, but I felt like that would be a lil' too much going on!
That's it for my cards. I still have one more graduation card to do. This is such a busy time of year. I've been to four baby showers recently (not counting my own). Then there are weddings, several family birthdays, Mother's Day, and graduations. Wow, May is such a busy month! That means I have lots more cards to do. I better get busy!! Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)
