Sweet n Sassy - Just Because

Friday, June 1, 2012
Hi there!!

I have some EXCITING news today! I was asked to participate in the Friends of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps program. I get to make a few cards to share with you this month with the adorable stamp set - Girly Girl Cookie! I love Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and Korin (the owner) is just the SWEETEST! I also love the company because Korin and her family are fellow Christians, and she has a lot of scripture and inspirational stamps. She also has a wide assortment of digi stamps - perfect for those of you who want your stamps instantly and don't have a lot of storage room! Oh, and there are dies, too! I recently purchased the grass and fence die set because honest to goodness...it was cheaper than I found similar dies anywhere else, and the quality was awesome!

Okay, let me stop blabbering and tell you about my card! First of all, I apologize about the grayness of the background in my card photo. I ran out of batteries and had to use a different camera that I really don't know how to use. Just keepin' it real here, folks.

I stamped Girly Girl Cookie in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her up with Copic markers. I have to confess that this is my first Cookie stamp set! Now I want more because she is SO cute, and this stamp was fun to color, too! I cut out the image with Circle Nestabilities. The patterned paper is from the Simple Stories - Fabulous line. LOVE this paper! I stitched around the edges...a little crooked, honestly. I'm trying to get better with my straight stitches! I added a fun, pink bow. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set in the bottom right corner and accented my image with a few Twinkles.

Since this is a SNSS image, I used this week's Sweet Stop Sketch - SSS160 for the layout.

Card Challenges Used:
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #141 - do something you're afraid of (I'm scared to straight stitch!)
PaperCraft Star #99 - make aqua your primary color
Charisma Cardz Challenges #21 - bling (I have three rhinestones)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)

  1. Hey Candace... great job straight stitching on this!! I love to stitch but don't sew very straight. I wish I could do it wavy like it's obvious I'm trying to not do it straight but then I don't do that well either! LOL. Love your image and the stitched ribbon is perfect with this cutie :) Thanks for linkin' up at SSiC!!

  3. Love your card, Candace and your stitching is great. I just stitch and let it turn out how ever it will. I've seen straight and I've seen very haphazard, and I love them both. Great card...and wonderful to have another inspiration from you on the SSIC challenge for the week.
